Michael Hopen, MD graduated Indiana University as a member of Phi Beta Kappa in 2004. As the son of two physicians, he was immersed in medicine at a young age and decided to pursue his passion. In 2010, he graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Hopen also obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kelley School of Business, concurrently with his MD degree.
After 3 years as a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Hopen decided to further his training and completed a glaucoma fellowship in El Paso, Texas, focusing on the most innovative, minimally-invasive surgical techniques and up-to-date medical treatments for glaucoma. He has been involved in clinical trials and has multiple publications in glaucoma literature.
In addition to glaucoma, Dr. Hopen has special interests in cataract and anterior segment surgery. He is currently a Top Doctor in ophthalmology as voted by his peers through the Castle Connolly organization.

Dr. Hopen is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology.
