Rolando Mendoza, OD attended Crispus Attucks High School, where he learned that optometry was his calling. He then attended the University of Indianapolis (UIndy), where he completed his bachelor’s degree in biology. During his time at UIndy, he gained experience working as a lab technician, optician, and optometric technician. He attended Indiana University School of Optometry where he was involved in various organizations and efforts including Contact Lens Club, American Optometric Student Association, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council for the IU School of Optometry.
Dr. Mendoza completed his training at American Health Network Eye Specialists in Muncie, Eyecare Associates of New Mexico, Vision Care Specialists in Chicago, and at the Indianapolis Eyecare Center. He is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Mendoza has special interests in management of glaucoma, diabetic eye examinations, and specialty contact lens fittings.
Dr. Mendoza currently lives in the Eagle Creek area with his wife Shelby. He enjoys going to the gym, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys working with local organizations to help first-generation students attend post-secondary institutions to further their education.
